The community is definitely a great deal warmer with the launch of our massive coat drive. Dozens of clean, gently used warm coats have already been donated at the facility in a widely advertised campaign that galvanized staff members, residents and their families, and local community members into action. The program, which will run from December to February, was spearheaded by Synergy Health Center’s corporate office, in partnership with the well-known national organization One Warm Coat. To ramp up the excitement, an inter-facility contest was launched with the facility to garner the most coat donations to win a pizza party! Synergy has also pledged to donate $10 to charity for each coat collected. Synergy staff members in all nine participating facilities who go above and beyond to help out with the coat drive will also be recognized for their dedication.
President and CEO of One Warm Coat Jennifer Stockard, was delighted by the partnership and the wonderful outcome. “For more than 20 years we have been working to provide a warm coat to anyone who needs one. We are so thankful for our many coat drive ambassadors, like Synergy Health Centers, who volunteer their time, resources, and energy to help their neighbors in need. Together we can reach our goal of warming one million people each winter, one community at a time!”
Dov Newmark, COO of Synergy Health Centers says that the coat drive is just one of the ways the company strives to give back to the community. “As responsible healthcare providers, we at Synergy believe it is important to give back to the communities where our residents lived for so many years. Forty-five million Americans are currently living in poverty. For these families and individuals, a warm coat is a budget extra they simply cannot afford.”
If you’ve got a coat you’d like to donate, you can find out about donation points in all Synergy facilities throughout Massachusetts, including the cities of Arlington, Amesbury, Waban, Revere, Wilmington, Salem, Worcester, and Brockton.
We’re excited to have the opportunity to keep people warm and random acts of kindness is definitely the way to go this season!
